Doug's Railroad Stuff
Latest update December 29, 2007
Hi folks.
Thanks for coming by.
I have two books in print, "The Gainesville Midland and her Sister Short Lines" and
"Civil Engineering
for Outdoor Railroads Volume 1".
I have "Civil Engineering for Outdoor Railroads Volume
2 - Bridges" about 80% done. It has several shareware programs. I am
planning on submitting the manuscript to the publisher in spring 2008 and hope it will be in print in fall 2008.
Either book or CDs may be purchased at my e-Bay store - Doug's Railroad Stuff
If you prefer, send me an e-mail with the desired CD's and I'll send you an invoice. Payment
may be through Paypal (e-Checks, or credit cards accepted by Paypal) or cashier's check or money order to me personally.
I have had some people want to deal with a brick and mortar hobby shop. For those people, I have
been telling them to contact Kathy at Trainmaster
Models in Duluth Georgia. She carries my books and calendars. If you request her to special
order my CDs, I am sure she and I can work something out for you. Please be patient if you are ordering CDs, we
have not worked out any deal for the CDs at this time. Just books and calendars.

Latest update November, 2007
I have some updates to this book (from information found since the the
book went to press) that I included in the 2008 GM calendar. However, the lack of interest of calendars has caused
me to not pre-print them anymore. If you are interested in a GM 2008 calendar, please feel free to contact me.
I can print one for $18.00 post paid (US only). The GM calendar has many of the important dates highlighted for
events on any of the railroads covered in the book.

ORER - Official Railway Equipment Registers on CD
“I am not familiar with the information in the equipment
register. Can you tell me if it has any information on the Little River Railroad in Townsend TN or the Tennessee,
Carolina and Southern in Maryville, TN? Or does it just cover the major railroads and not the private logging lines
and subsidiaries of larger roads? Thanks, Neal Stone”
The Official Railway Equipment Register covers all railroads that have paid to put their information into the volume.
Obviously, all major railroads would be listed. The isolated 10 mile narrow gauge Roswell Railroad is listed in
the Register while the isolated 50 mile narrow gauge Gainesville, Jefferson and Southern is not.
The Little River RR has a short entry. The Tennessee, Carolina and Southern does not in the 1905 Register.
If you would like, I can check out all Equipment Registers I have looking for these RR's at $2.00 per Register.
I have access to 16 Registers. If you would like to pursue this, I'll send you what year's ORERs I have and you
can select which you wish to have searched. This can include searching paper ORERs I do not have on CD.
I am attaching a copy of page 273 as an example of what is in an ORER. It includes the Little River RR.
Let me know if I may be of help.
