Hi folks.

With each book, I am including a sheet that has a correction to equations 15 and 16 to clarify their purpose.
I am also including a floppy with eight small DOS programs (that run under Windows also). If you fail to get one with your book. Let me know. They are covered in the PROGRAMS chapter.

The corrections sheet and the prograns are available on line for downloading.
Thanks.
Doug.

This book has an ISBN number 1-4208-7223-0 With this number, this book may be ordered through any book store.

The list price is $25.49.

I have it available through my e-Bay store and you may contact me diectly from this web site. Doug's Railroad Stuff

This book covers all sorts of topics. I "prove" that super elevation and spiral easements are not required for most slow speed applications. However, I also provide equations and tables for both in case you do wish to use them.

Derivations on how to stake out curves, spirals, and profiles are included.

I show how to use a 2"x4" to replace a surveyor's level. in making measurements.

I discuss fills, culverts, retaining walls, grades, grade compensation, and have many other topics.

I have based the book upon my real life experiences in laying out 56.5" gauge railroads down through N scale. I have used the same principles for all.

Tables for 3.75" gauge - 42" gauge tracks are provided. However, someone will always want something different from what I offer so I will provide a link to my web site to download shareware programs to generate the tables better suited to your needs. If you wish, the programs will handle down to Z gauge.

This book is based on a series of articles I published in 2002/2003 in Live Steam Magazine. I plan a second book discussing bridges and how to feel good about their design.

If you have questions, I will be glad to try to answer them, just give me a shout.
